名張市（なばりし）多文化共生（たぶんかきょうせい）センターNabiChanのキャラクターができました！

愛称（あいしょう）の由来（ゆらい）*に基（もと）づいて、キャラクターを作（つく）りました。

名張（なばり）の象徴（しょうちょう）として、名張市（なばりし）の鳥（とり）ウグイスと、名張市（なばりし）の木（き）モミジをモチーフにしました。
センターの役割（やくわり）を象徴（しょうちょう）する星（ほし）のステッキは、航海（こうかい）を導（みちび）く星（ほし）のように、センターを利用（りよう）する皆（みな）さんそれぞれの“目的地（もくてきち）”まで案内（あんない）する目印（めじるし）であるとともに、星（ほし）の下（もと）に集（つど）うように、色々（いろいろ）な人々（ひとびと）や関係（かんけい）機関（きかん）を繋（つな）ぐ目印（めじるし）を表（あらわ）しています。
ステッキの柄（え）の紫（むらさき）色（いろ）は、名張市（なばりし）の花（はな）キキョウの色（いろ）であり、多文化共生（たぶんかきょうせい）センターのテーマカラーでもあります。

愛称（あいしょう）のNabiChanとともに、キャラクターのなびちゃんもよろしくお願（ねが）いします！

*愛称（あいしょう）の由来（ゆらい）
名張（なばり）の英字（えいじ）Nabariからとった「Nabi」と、センターの役割（やくわり）である目的地（もくてきち）まで導（みちび）く意味（いみ）の英単語（えいたんご）navigationからとった「navi」を兼（か）ね合（あ）わせて「Nabi（なび）」。
センターのもう１つの役割（やくわり）である人（ひと）と人や関係（かんけい）機関（きかん）を繋（つな）ぐ意味（いみ）の英単語（えいたんご）channelからとった「chan」と、名前（なまえ）の敬称（けいしょう）の「ちゃん」、センターの英単語（えいたんご）centerの頭文字（かしらもじ）Cを兼（か）ね合（あ）わせて「Chan（ちゃん）」。

Nabari City Multicultural Center has created its mascot based on the origin of its nickname ‘NabiChan’*.

The mascot is designed with the motif of Nabari’s city bird and tree, that is, a bush warbler and a Japanese maple.
The star wand is a symbol of the center’s roles and it guides center users to their “destinations” similar to a star navigating people’s voyage and a channel to connect with various people and institutions such as people gathering under a star.
The purple color of the wand stick is the color of Nabari’s city flower, that is, a Chinese bellflower and the theme color of the center.

Please become familiar with ‘NabiChan’ not only as the center’s nickname but also as the center’s mascot.

*Origin of Nickname
‘Nabi’ is a combination of ‘Nabi’ coming from Nabari and ‘navi’ coming from navigation (one of the center’s role).
‘Chan’ is a combination of ‘chan’ coming from channel (the center’s another role) and chan meaning a form of address for a person’s name in Japanese, and ‘C’ coming from center.
